We’re thrilled to announce that we have two new staff for the People’s Media Collection on board!
Steffany El-Barouki, a native of Bogota, Colombia enjoys drinking coffee in the morning with her husband and producing a local bilingual show called Atrevete on PhillyCAM. She's passionate about teaching latino professionals how to work the cameras and most recently how to edit on Adobe Premiere. With her extensive outreach and social media background, she hopes to bring attention to the residents of the Northeast community and make them realize that you are never too old or too young to learn how to edit and produce their own content for TV. Steffany is excited about educating people how to intentionally use the resources that are available at their fingertips (phones & tablets) to produce meaningful messages and stories.
Rose, an incoming freshmen at Temple University for Communications, is a tech ambassador at her local library, West Oak Lane. She loves talking to people and getting to know their thoughts and opinions on various different topics. Rose and her family has lived in her neighborhood for many, many years and enjoys interacting with community. Working with the West Oak Lane library for three years has allowed her to become familiar with the patrons and employees. She is excited to encourage people to share their thoughts and stories through the media while educating them on how to use their own devices and software.
Steffany and Rose will be providing outreach support and checking in with participants as we work on an equipment checkout system at West Oak Lane and Northeast Regional for the fall.
